After the opening
ceremony, a seminar was presented to the public by H.E. Alamin
Mohammed Seid. The focus of the seminar was based on three main
issues namely, the current political situation in Eritrea, the
economic and development progress and regional politics. On the
political issues, he specifically mentioned that there are no
political problems in Eritrea. He reiterated “we are the owners of
our own political process”. He also stressed that there are no
religious, ethical or regional problems. |
| Mr.
Alamin noted that it is our right to have our own way of dealing
with the political process, because we have sacrificed a lot for
our freedom. |
|
|
Mr. Alamin noted that there had been no
change on the issue of the border demarcation between Eritrea and
Ethiopia. |

On the economic front, he noted that economic
development is not achieved in a day or two but rather it is a
long process. However we are dead sure we will prevail.
Another important issue discussed was
education and food security. Mr. Alami also briefly reiterated the
current political and economic relationship with regional
countries, namely Sudan, Chad, Somalia and Djibuti. Eritrea’s
important role in achieving peace and security in the Horn of
Africa was also discussed. |
