Festival Eritrea kicks-off in Toronto |

Toronto, August 3 2007 – Festival
season is upon the city of Toronto as youth gathered at Christie
Hall to kick-off the start of Festival Eritrea 2007. The evening
was very entertaining and showcased the talent of youth in music
and the arts. Among those to perform was Bahli Tesfa; a band made
up of young Eritreans specializing in Eritrean cultural songs and
dances. |

H.E. the General Secretary of the PFDJ, Alamin
Mohammed Seid, officially opened the night by cutting the ribbon
and greeting the organizers of the event. Some of the other guests
present were, H.E. Ahferom Berhane the newly appointed Eritrean
ambassador to Canada, H.E. Ambassador Girmay Gebremariam the
Eritrean ambassador to the United States and Consul-General Nura
Mohammed Omer of the Embassy of Eritrea in Ottawa. |

Since the introduction of the youth night 3
years ago at Festival Eritrea, the participants and audiences are
increasing and more attention is being given to this very
important event. The organizations involved in organizing this
event include the Eritrean Youth Association of Canada (EYAC), the
Young People’s Front for Democracy and Justice (YPFDJ) and the
Eritrean National Holidays Organizing Committee (ENHOC). |
