-March 28, 2004 |
| The ECAO (Eritrean
Canadian Association of Ontario) on Sunday March 28th celebrated the
end to the winter and fall sports season. All the teams recieved their
rightful trophies including exceptional players who scored the most
goals for their teams. During the event the organization also
recognized the achievments of the founder of the first Eritrean sports
program in Toronto, Tadesse. |

| In Tandem with the
winning Streak of Our Eritrean Runners. |
| It is a blessing to hear
and read about the victories of all the Eritrean runners who are
scoring big and making our flag fly high while we are concerned about
the chill the silence of the world is infusing in us in regards to the
border demarcation. But then, life has to go on, and amidst all the
hurdles that ECAO has endured since its inception, shinning and
remarkable progress is evident to its determination as the sole
representative of the Eritrean Community in Toronto and Surrounding.
Today, ECAO celebrated the Winter/Fall season closing ceremony for our
Sports program. Meagerly funded by the city of Toronto and largely
supported by Parents and fruitful VOLUNTEERS, the sports program has
320 children and adolescents age 6-14, who every Sunday, regularly
that is, participate in an all year soccer and basketball activities.
This program has made us all to be aware of the fact that priority
should be given to the thinking of nurturing our children.
|
| ECAO, as a
not-for-profit organization, has also a Seniors/ health program,
computer education program, resettlement program and assist needy
Eritreans in other areas. |
| The spring/summer
outdoors activities will soon start and congratulations to the
dedicated volunteers and coaches and trophy winners. |
